Getting apprenticeships right: next steps

Discusses how the additional funding given to the Institute for Apprenticeships in the Budget should be used to ensure that it is a credible, independent body with the power to make changes. Sets out how to make the vision of a successful skills system a reality. Argues that the Institute for Apprenticeships should focus on improving quality provision as an independent market regulator. Proposes that the it should make the standards process more efficient. Suggests that the it should ensure greater transparency over funding decisions. Concludes that the it should be at the heart of a successful T-levels system. Makes recommendations for actions to be taken by the Institute for Apprenticeships and for the government in relation to each of these proposals.
