Document Abstract

Construction Skills Network: forecasts 2018-2022

Provides economic forecasts looking at output and employment in the construction sector over the 2018-2022 period. Presents an economic overview for the UK, and outlines trends in the key construction-sub sectors, with residential and infrastructure doing well but non-residential building struggling. Indicates growth in both output and employment in the construction sector between 2018 and 2022, increasing construction sector jobs to 2.77 million in 2022. Provides profiles for the devolved nations and English regions, indicating that Wales leads output growth for the fourth consecutive year and that the regional picture is mixed with stronger construction growth forecast in the South East.
