Document Abstract

Overview of new forms of employment: 2018 update

Looks at the development of types of employment that are either new or have become increasingly important in Europe since 2000. Outlines the context for the report, which provides an overview and update of an earlier Eurofound report on new forms of employment. Describes and discusses nine forms of employment: strategic employee sharing; job sharing; interim management; casual work; ICT-based mobile work; voucher-based work; portfolio work; platform work; and collaborative self-employment. Presents conclusions, highlighting the impacts on working conditions and the labour market, and considers the policy implications.
