Looks at developments in apprenticeships and skills policy in England since 2015. Outlines the current apprenticeship system including minimum wage, employee rights and standards. Describes key policy developments since 2015 including apprenticeship targets, Institute for Apprenticeships and changes to apprenticeship funding. Discusses key issues relating to the apprenticeship levy including how it operates, funding raised and its application in specific sectors. Looks at other changes to apprenticeship funding and the impact of the funding changes. Outlines other initiatives to improve skills, including reforms to technical education and skills advisory panels, and provides other useful information sources.
