Articulation from Scottish Colleges to Scottish Universities 2017-18

Looks at movement between colleges and universities in Scotland, and levels of accreditation for prior learning, drawing on analysis of the Scottish national articulation database. Explains that articulation is defined as a student gaining entry into a degree course with a higher national certificate (HNC) or diploma (HND) gained at college. Indicates that 9,763 students moved from colleges to universities in 2017-18. Provides breakdowns for the three categories of prior learning (advanced standing, advanced progression and progression) and looks at subject pathways and figures for individual colleges and universities. Examines articulation on the basis of the Scottish Indices of Multiple Deprivation, and looks at groups of special interest and protected characteristics including gender and minority ethnic.
