‘There’s no going back’: the transformation of HE careers services using big data, IN Journal of the National Institute for Career Education and Counselling, No 42 Apr 2019, pp18-25

Explores how Higher Education (HE) careers services have changed since the introduction of Careers Registration data and examines the impact big data will have on the delivery of careers and employability services in HE. Outlines Careers Registration data, explaining that it is a tool that allows careers services to collect students’ aspirations and employability enhancing experiences. Argues that, as a result, HE careers services can gain insight into students’ career planning, their work experience, and likely career pathways. Concludes that utilising Careers Registration data allows HE careers services to greatly enhance their service and provide students with the best possible support in their career development.
