Document Abstract

Forging strategic partnerships to develop future global leaders, IN Phoenix, No 157 Jun 2019, pp30-31

Explores the employment education approach taken at Lancaster University Management School (LUMS), which focuses on developing leadership qualities among its student body. Describes how all new undergraduate students at LUMS are required to take a professional development course which focuses on leadership qualities in response to a recent graduate survey that highlighted a perceived lack of leadership skills. Outlines the course content before discussing challenges around design and structure of the module. Concludes that this course complements the career service provision at the university and predicts positive results from the next Graduate Outcomes survey.
